Its something similar to that wonderful extraordinary drama, Saw it twice, never get bored .. so convincing that you will feel sympathized with each character, Kivanc was so compelling that you will love his character and try to find an excuse for him, Adnan was a wonderful character that you will feel you want to hug him, Beren was so annoying and successfully will give you the feeling that you hate her for not giving behold the chance to get rid of his feelings towards her.

4. What is Fatmagül’s Fault? [2012]

This show is about the importance of honour and justice to women’s abuse. Fatmagul is a brave survivor of an assault.There is family dynamics where all the hardships she goes through is lost somewhere. Instead of losing hope and giving up, Fatmagul continues to fight for her justice. The human and realistic aspect of this story makes it more familiar; we connect instantly. Her character brings strength and courage to all the generations of women. The Characters : Fatmagul was so believable, a woman who went through some intense trauma, she was hurt, with very strong facial expressions and then Kerim is so patient of a patient man, the only man in this series.

3. Ezel [2009] (Drama)

Psychology is extraordinary! Great drama & action, the story of love and hatred, revenge and compassion, cruelty and kindness, crudeness. The movie moguls in Turkey know how to spin stories that leave you on the edge of your seat, anxious for the next episode. The wardrobe, the ambience, how they walk and speak like a lord. When Esel, the protagonist, becomes penniless and Eysen, with Kenan, loses the connection, the story takes a turn like a Hollywood story though it is a Turkish series.

2. Magnificent Century [2011] (Drama)

The main plot revolves around the ruler, his political covenant, romantic interest and his rise to power. There is a sense of royalty throughout the series. The glamorous life of a ruler unfolds slowly episodically. Generally, we assume royal life to be carefree and full of privileges. This Turkish series exposes the dark side of royalty, where no one could sleep in peace. Blood, revenge, murders, cover-ups, rumours, backstabbing, etc., were the norm. Everyone has to make their move to counter those of others. People become cruel and violent in the process. No one emerges as an angel. The Magnificent Century and this one, Kosem Magnificent Century. Brilliant script to cinematography, costume, acting & and the entire production. It is a desperately captivating tale that would do so well on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime here in the states. The Characters : Acting is excellent, with special mention for the actors who played Suleiman, Hurrem (original and her replacement), Mahidevran and Bayezid.

1. Diriliş: Ertuğrul [2014] (History)

The amazing history of Turkey is a rare topic that opens a whole world of information to viewers fond of historical sagas. In the 13th century, the scattered tribes of Anatolia found themselves united and safe from the scourge of the Mongol and Templar tyrants under the magnificent leadership of Ertugrul. Ertugrul is a world-renowned phenomenon because of how easily it attracted the audience towards the play.  Each character is unique in their own right. The scenes with the strong horses in slow motion or the aerial and long-angle shots of the settings are marvellous.  It shows how labour has been put into being successful for the drama. The Characters : Specially all the character from family,suleman shah, Hyem ana their bond with husband and As a Mother, beautiful Halime, Ertugrul (Egin Altan put life in Role), their alps Turgut, Bamsi, Dogan, Caljan. 

Final Thoughts

This week, brush all the usual shows aside that you might have grown tired of by now and try something exciting. Allow yourself to embrace the beauty of Turkish culture, drama, history, and emotion.
