Bollywood actor Govinda was reportedly rushed to Criticare Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai, on Wednesday, after he fainted and lost his consciousness at home. The 61-year-old veteran actor is currently under medical observation.
The news has left fans concerned, as it happened just a day after Govinda was seen visiting Dharmendra in the hospital. However, both incidents have no connection but the timing has added an emotional wave among the 90s actors’ admirers.
What had happened?
The news about the actor and politician Govinda was confirmed by his close friend and legal advisor Lalit Bindal. Lalit told the media that Govinda had been feeling disoriented and was receiving medication for the same via tele-consultation. Later, he lost his consciousness and was admitted to CritiCare Hospital around 1 a.m. for an emergency observation.
Shashi Sinha, Govinda’s manager, gave the additional information to the press, that he is undergoing routine checkups and has been advised to consult a neurologist.
Since he is under observation, any long-term changes or effects on his health are unknown. The exact cause of his fainting is not disclosed yet.

Hospitalised for the second time
This isn’t the first time Govinda has been admitted to the same hospital. In October 2024 when he accidentally shot himself in the leg at his home with his licensed revolver. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment. The bullet was removed and he got discharged after a few days. According to the current news report this marks the ‘second time’ he has been hospitalised within a year.
No further details on his health update have been shared at this time. His team has reported that he is recovering well under medical supervision.
