Brave Saga of Rezang La
Farhan Akhtar takes the lead role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati in 120 Bahadur. The role of Major Shaitan is not something which any actor could have pulled. Farha’s commitment to the role could be seen in the trailer itself.
The 120 Bahadur is about the 1962 Battle of Rezang La of the Charlie Company of the 13 Kumaon Regiment. At the altitude of over 17,000 feet in the ridge in the Himalayas these men fought themselves utterly isolated and massively outnumbered.
They faced a 3,000-strong Chinese force with limited ammunition and minimal medical support also without hope of reinforcements. Their story is one of impossible odds. The soldiers that were predominantly from the Ahir community of Haryana made a final heroic stand. The troop led by Major Bhati fought until literally their last bullet and last breath.
Only four soldiers survived from which two of whom were taken prisoner. When the snow cleared months later the search parties found the bodies of the fallen soldiers still in their trenches and frozen in combat positions while holding their weapons. Major Bhati earned the Param Vir Chakra posthumously for his leadership.

A Release Strategy Rooted in Respect
The choice to premiere the film within the defence network is a strategic masterstroke that elevates the film from a piece of entertainment to a national tribute.
This move bypasses the conventional commercial pressures of a typical Bollywood release, prioritizing accessibility for military personnel. It recognizes the unique lifestyle of defence families who often live in remote or restricted areas where access to mainstream multiplexes can be limited.
The film ensures that the people most likely to feel the profound impact of this story are given immediate access to it.
Final Take
The move to release the film in defence theatres across India truly shows the respect that each soldier of the county deserves. The impact of the film is to be felt most by the families and defence personnel themselves.
Thus, giving them priority means that the film’s goal is nearing the success that they need. So, mark your calendar for November 21, 2025 and experience the most heart-wrenching yet bravest story of our country’s defence realm.
