Tamil actor and politician, Kamal Haasan hints at reviving his dream project Marudhanayagam, saying that with the advancement of artificial intelligence, it can be possible.

Marudhanayagam was shelved due to budget constraints and was not successful in reviving the project in many attempts.

Kamal Haasan, an actor who recently turned a politician often balances between both the careers. He frequently gets encountered with questions regarding his dream shelved project Marudhanayagam.

The movie was announced back on October 6, 1997, with Queen Elizabeth II being the chief guest. The production was halted due to financial issues and other production problems. The budget was said to be around Rs 80 crore. Production stopped in 1998 after a British co-producer pulled out.

The project faced many financial and technical hurdles despite many attempts to revive the production.

In a recent conversation with the press ahead of this year’s International Film Festival of India in Goa, a reporter brought up questions about the project, where Kamal Haasan replied, “I have interest in reviving it. With today’s technological advancements, I hope that this is also possible.”

His comment sparked curiosity among fans once again, many saying that the Tamil actor will implement the use of artificial intelligence to revive his dream project.

Kamal Haasan travelled to the US to learn about the scope and imitations of AI. During the interview, he said, “I went to the US with the intention of learning AI. But it’s beyond me and beyond all of us. I feel we shouldn’t touch it without proper understanding. When it comes to cinema visuals, it’s at a nascent stage. It’s a broad spectrum. AI will be there in your life, my life and everyone else’s. It’s like our computer. That’s how I think. We should not feel threatened by AI.”
