Rishab Shetty’s mythic Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, is all set to make its grand digital debut. The film that ruled theatres and hearts since its release day is now coming home, and fans can’t keep calm.

Rishab Shetty’s epic film will premiere on Amazon Prime Video by the end of this festive month, available to stream all over India and over 200 countries. The announcement was made official by the streaming platform itself with an Instagram post. The caption read: “Get ready to witness the legendary adventure of Berme. #KantaraALegendChapter1OnPrime, October 31.”
Which languages are on the dubbing list
While Prime Video is covering mostly its South Indian audiences, the streaming service will be available in multiple languages, including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
As per the sources and reports from the industry trackers, the hindi version is said to be arriving later, likely around November 26. There has been no particular announcements for other regional languages as Marthi, Bengali or international languages like English or French.
Box Office Collection
The fim has sealed a massive OTT deal with the Prime Video, reportedly around INR 125 crore. Before storming OTT, Kantara: Chapter 1 roared through the box office with divine force, collecting over ₹800 crore worldwide.
It became only the 12th film in Indian history to cross ₹500 crore domestically. From packed single screens in Karnataka to multiplexes in North India, the film redefined what regional cinema can achieve. Rishab Shetty not only directed but also headlined the movie, a performance that critics called “hauntingly powerful” and “steeped in spiritual realism.”
What is Kantara: Chapter 1 all about?
Kantara: Chapter 1 is a mythological, action-driven drama serving as a prequel to Kantara which was released back in 2022. The film delves deeper into the origins of the traditions and rituals of Bhoota Kola, introduced in the first movie.
The setting of the story is during the reign of the ancient Kadamba Dynasty. The storyline revolves around the peaceful Kantara tribe and the Bangara Kingdom ruled by a cruel King Vijayendra. Rishabh Shetty is plays the role of Berme, the leader of the Kantara tribe. The film explores the themes of folklore, ancestral conflit, spirituality and the relationship between man and nature.
The movie is released under the the banner of Hombale Fims which was also the production house for KGF while Rishabh Shetty is the director, screenwriter and male lead of the movie. Actors as Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah and Jayaram are also playing the major role in the movie.

Manish Meghnani, director and the head of Content licensing at Prime Video India, praised the film for its authenticity and storytelling. He called the movie “a cinematic universe that beautifully blends spirituality, and emotion.”
