Why did she start the life-saving series?

Palak’s mission as a Philanthropist began when she was barely seven years old. She encountered a child on the streets of Indore who was cleaning train compartments to save some money for his heart surgery. That day triggered her for the ‘heart surgery’ mission, and she promised to fulfil it someday.

She, along with her family collected Rs 51000 using a street vendor’s cart to help a young boy (Lokesh), who had a congenital heart defect. The first surgery was just the beginning.

In an interview Palak mentioned performing three hours at street or local shows in order to raise money for one child’s surgery. Slowly her fees grew and through her concerts she could now fund for 13-14 surgeries.

Later, her brother Palash joined for a joined charitable foundation known as ‘Palak-Palash Charitable Foundation.’ In 2021-22, the corporate firm Motilal Oswal Finance Service Ltd. joined the foundation allocating Rs 4 lakh for a preventive healthcare and sanitation.

By June 2024, she announced that her foundation had funded more than 3000 heart surgeries, but the cost per surgery and the donation amount were not disclosed. The mission marked 25 years in March 2025 under the banner of ‘Saving Little Hearts.’
