Sunny Deol has once again proved why he is one of the biggest action stars of Bollywood. His fiery comeback with Gadar 2 became a historic success in 2023. Adding to that Jaat, released in 2025 became a mega hit. With these massive comebacks, fans are now awaiting his lined-up projects.
His upcoming film Border 2, the sequel to one of the most iconic war films in Indian cinema, is set to hit theatres on Republic Day 2026, and soon after, he will return with an emotional, action-packed story in Gabru.
But here’s the twist that has made the headlines all over the media outlets, Salman Khan is reportedly making a special cameo in the film adding extra excitement to Sunny Deol’s next chapter.
Salman Khan’s Special Appearance
Sunny Deol and Salman Khan have shared a special bond off screen for years but are rarely seen together on screen. Their last film together was Jeet (1996) and they both were part of Heroes (2008) but did not act together in the movie.
With both stars enjoying massive fanbase and comebacks, the hope for this short appearance have become a nostalgic celebratory moment for the fans.
There is a strong speculation that Salman Khan is a part of Gabru. According to Bollywood Hungama, an insider said that Salman Khan has three scenes in the movie. The appearance will be “extended and entertaining.”
The makers needed a star and approached Salman. He signed the cameo role grabbing the opportunity to reunite with Sunny after 30 years. It’ll be an “adorable” cameo with an emotional part.
As of now there is no official statement verifying the rumour.
Other Upcoming Cameos of Salman Khan
According to several sources Salman is going to have a special appearance in two to three other movies beside Gabru.
He is reportedly set to make a cameo alongside Ritesh Deshmukh in Raja Shivaji as Jeeva Mahala. The movie is slated to release on 1st May, 2026.
Recent reports have claimed that Salman Khan might play a cameo in Alpha, a YRF spy thriller starring Alia Bhatt. He could reprise his ‘Tiger’ character in the movie like the other spy universe films. These rumours still remain unverified.
On top of that a teaser from a Saudi film titled 7 Dogs showed Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt in a fiery appearance. However, his appearance was for one second which suggests that it was a very small cameo and not a larger role.
Salman is gearing up for his upcoming movie ‘Battle of Galwan’ slated to release in mid 2026.

More About ‘Gabru’
Sunny Deol officially announced Gabru through an instagram post on his 68th birthday. The film is described as an action-drama with the themes of “courage, conscience and compassion.”
The caption read “Power isn’t what you show, it is what you do! Thank you everyone for your love and blessings, here is something for you all who have been waiting #Gabru in CINEMAS. A story of courage, conscience and compassion. From my heart……to the world!”
Gabru is slated to release in theatres on 13 March 2026.
