This reunion was a very emotional scene where mother and daughter unite again. All the sentiments filled both characters as they forgave each other. There was a sense of understanding in Billie’s character which made the scene more sad. Part of the revelation was filled with curiosity and suspense. But the other part? The selflessness in her character was portrayed in the show with such intensity that many couldn’t hold back their tears.
This act of sacrifice was also for the world in a way. As Marsus initiated to open the portal she stopped him from fully opening it and unleashing a great evil upon their world. She also saves her daughter from a terrible fate and from being forced to serve her villainous grandfather. By jumping into the portal with Morsus, Alex seals the rift between their world and the dark magical dimension. This prevents a dangerous magical event that would have put everyone in grave danger, including her loved ones.
