By number of domestic passengers carried, it is India&#8217;s second-largest airline, with a market share of 5.8% as of April 2023.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_7\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\" id=\"trade-1177670765\"><!-- Composite Start --> \r\n <div id=\"M923760ScriptRootC1549812\"> \r\n <\/div> \r\n <script src=\"https:\/\/jsc.mgid.com\/t\/r\/tradebrains.in.1549812.js\" async> \r\n <\/script> \r\n <!-- Composite End --><\/div><p>No-frills carrier SpiceJet on Monday reported a net profit of Rs 205 crore in the three months ended June, helped by strong air travel demand.<\/p><p>The airline, which is facing multiple headwinds, had recorded a net loss of Rs 789 crore in the year-ago period.<\/p><p>In a release, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.tradebrains.in\/stock\/SPICEJET\/consolidated\">SpiceJet<\/a><\/strong> said the profit of Rs 205 crore was on account of &#8220;strong demand for air travel in India&#8221;.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_5\" id=\"trade-644505633\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_2_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7925020301\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div><p>&#8220;Total operating revenue for the reported quarter was Rs 2,002 crore as against Rs 2,457 crore in the same quarter of the previous year,&#8221; it said.<\/p><p>In the first quarter of this fiscal, operating expenses declined to Rs 1,291 crore as against Rs 2,072 crore in the same period a year ago.<\/p><p>SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh said that despite facing multiple challenges, the airline posted a profit in the first quarter of the current financial year.<\/p><p>&#8220;I am pleased to have contributed to its growth by infusing Rs 500 crore into the company.
