It has a copper grade of 2.3%, the company said.<\/p><p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.tradebrains.in\/stock\/VEDL\/consolidated\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vedanta Resources<\/a><\/strong> Chairman Anil Agarwal said that he welcomes the decision by the Zambian Government to reinstate Vedanta at KCM and reiterated the company\u2019s commitment toward its prized asset, being KCM since 2004. Copper is a critical mineral for the technologies of the future. Vedanta will become a fully integrated producer of copper and cater to India&#8217;s fast-growing demand while also making Zambia the leading producer of copper in the world, he added.<\/p><p>Currently, India is over 90% dependent on imports for copper concentrate and over 40% dependent on imports for finished copper. &#8220;Vedanta will return to run and resuscitate the operations of KCM as the majority shareholders,&#8221; Paul Kabuswe, Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, Republic of Zambia was quoted as saying in the statement.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_5\" id=\"trade-2630544556\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_2_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7925020301\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div><p>Vedanta Resources owns 68.11% of its Indian subsidiary Vedanta Ltd, which has significant operations in oil and gas, zinc, iron ore, aluminum, power and copper in India.
