Warehouse receipts are issued in negotiable form, making them eligible as collateral for loans.<\/p>\n<p> According to the National E-Repository Limited (NERL), the first pledge was financed against eNWR in March 2018 and now the loan facilitated against e-warehousing receipts has crossed a new milestone of Rs 2,000 crore.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_5\" id=\"trade-2724006727\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_2_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7925020301\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p> Commenting on the new milestone, NERL Managing Director and CEO Kedar Deshpande said: &#8220;This will pave the way to bring liquidity\/finance and trade at a warehouse level.&#8221; \t The ecosystem has the potential to enable the government to track the private stock available in the country and take informed decisions for market intervention, he added.<\/p>\n<p> Currently, NERL has over 6,600 client accounts and out of which 28 per cent comprise farmers\/FPOs. Against a deposit of 36 lakh tonne of commodities, the company has issued over 4 lakh eNWRs so far. It has 40 banks on its board to offer loans against eNWRs.<\/p>\n<p> NERL officially commenced its operations in 2017 and developed its in-house capabilities and technology for generating eNWRs under the regulation of WDRA.
