(HAL) may just become the next state-run company to be accorded a &#8220;Maharatna&#8221; status.&nbsp;<\/p><p>The defence company could be upgraded from <strong>&#8216;Navratna&#8217; to &#8216;Maharatna&#8217; <\/strong>by the end of this year.&nbsp;<\/p><p>Moreover, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.tradebrains.in\/stock\/OIL\/consolidated\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oil India<\/a><\/strong> was the latest company to be awarded &#8220;Maharatna&#8221; status by the government, with the designation granted in August of the previous year.\u00a0<\/p><p>To qualify for Maharatna status, a CPSE must have an average annual turnover exceeding Rs. 25,000 crore over the past three financial years.&nbsp;<\/p><p>Additionally, it should have an average annual net worth of more than Rs. 15,000 crore during the same period, and its average annual net profit after tax must be over Rs. 5,000 crore in the last three years.&nbsp;<\/p><p>After getting the Maharatna status, the companies can invest between Rs. 1,000 crores to Rs. 5,000 crores in a single project without requiring prior government approval.&nbsp;<\/p><div class=\"trade-content-10\" id=\"trade-1131909981\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_3_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"2969612066\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div><p>They are also allowed to invest up to 15 percent of their net worth in projects without needing permission from the government.&nbsp;<\/p><p>Furthermore, Maharatna PSU can also undertake mergers and acquisitions in India and abroad. They can also offer competitive financing in their sector.&nbsp;<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Financials:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2><p>Looking at the company\u2019s financial statements, the revenue decreased by around 71 percent from Rs. 14,769 crores during the March quarter to Rs. 4,348 crores in the June quarter.
