We are making losses as we continue to buy raw jute at Rs 7000, while the government will pay us at the declared price of Rs 6500 per quintal,\u201d Gupta told PTI.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_5\" id=\"trade-2225618647\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_2_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7925020301\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p>More and more mills are closing and this will lead to a shortage in supply of gunny bags for foodgrain packaging and 75 per cent of the consumption is for government supply, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Raw jute price had not eased in the last three months since the government had fixed the fair price of the key raw material at Rs 6500 per quintal.<\/p>\n<p>Over a dozen jute mills in the state have been closed recently, mostly due to raw jute concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Jute industry in Bengal involves over 30 lakh jute farmers and 2.5 lakh mills workers, according to estimates by trade unions.
