However, it was down sequentially from 4.50 per cent in the quarter ended September 2021.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_5\" id=\"trade-1781062854\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_2_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7925020301\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p>Net NPAs or bad loans too rose to 2.45 per cent from 1.74 per cent a year ago, but were lower than 2.84 per cent in the preceding quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The bank put aside a lesser amount of Rs 138.50 crore to cover for bad loans and contingencies in Q3 FY22, compared to Rs 224.30 crore in Q3 FY21.<\/p>\n<p>Karnataka Bank said its MD and CEO Mahabaleshwara M S has exercised 79,000 employee stock options (ESOPs) out of the 1,00,000 stock options vested in him under the KBL Employee Stock Options Scheme &#8211; 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The resultant equity shares are allotted by the board of directors at the meeting held on Friday, it added.<\/p>\n<div class=\"trade-after-content\" id=\"trade-2231452168\"><div id=\"taboola-below-article-thumbnails\"><\/div>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n  window._taboola = window._taboola || [];\r\n  _taboola.push({\r\n    mode: 'alternating-thumbnails-a',\r\n    container: 'taboola-below-article-thumbnails',\r\n    placement: 'Below Article Thumbnails',\r\n    target_type: 'mix'\r\n  });\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n  window._taboola = window._taboola || [];\r\n  _taboola.push({flush: true});\r\n<\/script><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Private sector Karnataka Bank on Friday reported an 8 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 146.42 crore for the quarter ended December 2021 on the back of a fall in provisions for bad loans and contingencies.
