Mahindra, Reliance, NHPC and others, the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Singh noted that the ICAI &#8212; the country\u2019s premier accounting body &#8212; has been entrusted with the task of establishing solid accounting practices and standards to be followed by all concerned.<\/p>\n<p>In doing so, he said, the ICAI has to live up to high expectations of following supreme standards of accountability, excellence and honesty, in the interest of nation building.<\/p>\n<p>The minister reiterated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced a series of path breaking measures to bring &#8220;ease of business&#8221; and at the same time to raise the Indian economy in compatibility with the global benchmarks.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content-10\" id=\"trade-1468234049\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_3_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"2969612066\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p>In times like this, he said, the role of ICAI becomes all the more critical over the years to come.<\/p>\n<p>Singh was glad to note that the ICAI had issued various Indian accounting standards and also revised certain previous accounting standards to bring them in line with the most advanced fields in the field of accounting, the statement said.<\/p>\n<p> \tEstablished in 1958, the \u201cInstitute of Chartered Accountants of India Awards for Financial Reporting&#8221; provide a credible platform for various companies to improve their standards of financial reporting.<\/p>\n<p>However, this year, for the first time, the ICIA has also introduced &#8220;Sustainable Reporting Awards\u201d with the noble purpose of recognising and awarding organisations which have made outstanding contributions in fields like climate change, gender equality, etc., it said.<\/p>\n<p>On the occasion, Singh also presented SAARC annual awards for corporate governance disclosures competition.
