Vipula is an aviation expert and regarded as a turnaround specialist in the industry.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;He has been shortlisted after a rigorous process run by our Executive Team over the last several months,&#8221; said Ankit Jalan,\u00a0Member of the Monitoring Committee of Jet Airways and part of Jalan-Kalrock Consortium.<\/p>\n<p> Gunatilleka, who served as the CEO of the SriLankan Airlines till January this year, was\u00a0brought to restructure\u00a0the carrier in 2018, as per a release.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_5\" id=\"trade-2613830484\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_2_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7925020301\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p> &#8220;I am certain Vipula will be an asset to the organization and will provide the necessary vision to revive the operations of Jet Airways as per the plans of the Consortium,&#8221; Jalan added.<\/p>\n<p> Prior to joining SriLankan Airlines,\u00a0he was the CFO &#038; Board Member of\u00a0 TAAG Angola Airlines from November 2015 to July 2018 under Emirates Management.<\/p>\n<p> A qualified chartered accountant, Gunatelleka, played a pivotal role to turnaround the loss-making national carrier of Angola, it added.<\/p>\n<p> He\u00a0 is known for his astute knowledge in aircraft financing, strategic planning, cost-efficient business modelling and openness to adopt hybrid models to keep business costs low and efficiency high, Jet Airways said.<\/p>\n<p> Gunatilleka said, &#8220;I am very excited to join the company and I look forward to contributing my knowledge of the last 30 years in Jet Airways&#8217; resurgence in its new avatar.
