{"id":25925,"date":"2022-02-24T17:42:11","date_gmt":"2022-02-24T12:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/biz-stocks-ld-decline\/"},"modified":"2022-02-24T17:42:11","modified_gmt":"2022-02-24T12:12:11","slug":"biz-stocks-ld-decline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/biz-stocks-ld-decline\/","title":{"rendered":"Market crash: 97 stocks on BSE 500 index hit their 52-week lows"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"trade-content_2\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\" id=\"trade-2911874327\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/get\/telegram\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-101992\" src=\"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/telegram-channel-300x119.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"148\" height=\"59\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/news.google.com\/publications\/CAAqBwgKMN3Epgswxc--Aw?hl=en-IN&amp;gl=IN&amp;ceid=IN%3Aen\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-123430\" src=\"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/follow-on-google-news-300x82.png\" alt=\"follow-on-google-news\" width=\"222\" height=\"61\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/follow-on-google-news-300x82.png 300w, https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/follow-on-google-news-150x41.png 150w, https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/follow-on-google-news.png 468w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 222px) 100vw, 222px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><p> New Delhi, Feb 24 (PTI) The market mayhem on Thursday pulled down as many as 97 stocks from the BSE 500 index to their 52-week low levels as investors pressed the panic button after Russia launched a military offensive against Ukraine.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_7\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\" id=\"trade-462415808\"><!-- Composite Start --> \r\n <div id=\"M923760ScriptRootC1549812\"> \r\n <\/div> \r\n <script src=\"https:\/\/jsc.mgid.com\/t\/r\/tradebrains.in.1549812.js\" async> \r\n <\/script> \r\n <!-- Composite End --><\/div>\n<p> Overall, the market crash has pulled down nearly 279 stocks to their respective one-year lows on the BSE.<\/p>\n<p> The 30-share BSE gauge plunged about 2,850 points during the session before closing at 54,529.91, registering a massive fall of 2,702.15 points or 4.72 per cent.<\/p>\n<p> Likewise, the NSE barometer Nifty nosedived 815.30 points or 4.78 per cent to end at 16,247.95.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_5\" id=\"trade-2686597744\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_2_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7925020301\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p> Broader markets were badly hit as sustained selling pressure pulled the Sensex midcap and smallcap gauges down by 5.53 per cent and 5.77 per cent, respectively.<\/p>\n<p> Sector-wise, all the BSE sectoral indices closed in the red, with realty, telecom and auto suffering the maximum loss of 7.27 per cent, 6.48 per cent and 6.05 per cent, respectively.<\/p>\n<p> The advance-decline ratio was massively tilted in favour of the bears, with 231 advances and 3,161 declines.<\/p>\n<p> As many as 97 stocks from the BSE 500 index which hit their 52-week lows on Thursday, including BPCL, Dr Reddy&#8217;s, Exide Industries, HDFC Life, Apollo Tyres, MRF, HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd and Wockhardt Ltd.<\/p>\n<p> Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures jumped 8.36 per cent to USD 104.94 per barrel amid geopolitical worries.<\/p>\n<p> The situation in Ukraine deteriorated after President Vladimir Putin announced a military operation in Ukraine, triggering serious concerns over the possibility of a full-scale military confrontation between the two countries.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content-10\" id=\"trade-3149458404\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_3_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"2969612066\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p> &#8220;Investors turned jittery and pressed the panic button after reports emerged that Russia has taken military action against Ukraine. As the mood was sombre across the global equity markets, traders back home also followed suit and pressed the sell button, resulting in across-the-board selling,&#8221; said Shrikant Chouhan, Head of Equity Research (Retail), Kotak Securities Ltd.<\/p>\n<p> The F&#038;O expiry pressure also gave investors a reason to cut their positions further amid escalating geopolitical tensions.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;Considering the uncertainties hovering around, the index may trade lower between the highs of 16,800 and 16,000. The market is in corrective mode and it would complete its corrective pattern between 16200 and 16000. For the traders, 16400 and 16500 could act as intraday resistance while 16100-16000 could be the immediate support zone,&#8221; Chouhan added.
