Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures jumped 7.92 per cent to USD 104.51 per barrel.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Equities witnessed a free fall with markets around the globe down more than 5 per cent, while Russian markets were down more than 30 per cent as Russia invaded Ukraine after weeks of conflict,&#8221; said Siddhartha Khemka, Head &#8211; Retail Research, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>Nifty saw a steep fall of 800 points as sentiments soured over intense military assault by Russia. Sellers outpaced buyers as volatility intensified on the day of monthly F&amp;O expiry. All the sectoral indices were in red, with the majority of the sectors down almost 5-8 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sentiments took a hit with Nifty now down by 13 per cent from its high of 18604. Markets are likely to remain under pressure given the escalation of Russia-Ukraine conflict into a war-like situation.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content-10\" id=\"trade-4041073444\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_3_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"2969612066\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Any reaction from NATO \/ US armies is only going to worsen the situation further.
