against Ukraine on Thursday.\t \tPutin, who met the country&#8217;s top business executives here on Thursday was told that supply chains may be\u00a0broken as\u00a0a\u00a0result of\u00a0new sanctions that will cover many sectors of\u00a0the Russian economy, the official TASS news agency reported.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u00a0are perfectly aware that new sanctions will be\u00a0much tougher than all previous restrictions and will cover many sectors, such as\u00a0the financial sector, extractive industries, technological equipment supplies,&#8221; President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) Alexander Shokhin told Putin.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;They will also cover certain types of\u00a0commodities and components, and supply chains, transport and logistics chains may be\u00a0broken,\u201d he\u00a0said.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_5\" id=\"trade-2144067074\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_2_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7925020301\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p>This will make business refocus on\u00a0other partners, Shokhin noted.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To\u00a0dampen all those restrictions the Russian business, Russian companies will obviously have to\u00a0work even more efficiently,\u201d he\u00a0said, adding that \u201cit\u00a0will be\u00a0necessary to\u00a0implement the import substitution strategy actively, as\u00a0well as\u00a0search for new partners in\u00a0countries that are ready to\u00a0continue cooperation,\u201d Shokhin said.<\/p>\n<p> During the meeting, President Putin said that Russia was prepared for what is happening in terms of sanctions imposed by Western countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, we all &#8211; and you too &#8211; understand what world we are living in and we prepared, this way or the other, for what is happening now in terms of restrictions and sanctions policy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the threat of punitive sanctions by Western countries, the press service of the Russian government has said the country has sufficient financial resources for providing the stability of the financial system amid sanctions.<\/p>\n<p>The government of\u00a0Russia has formed clear plans on\u00a0measures to\u00a0protect financial markets and separate companies from possible sanctions and other threats, it said on Thursday.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content-10\" id=\"trade-2591095897\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_3_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"2969612066\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;As\u00a0part of\u00a0this work simulation modelling (stress tests) of\u00a0the consequences of\u00a0imposed sanctions have been conducted, after which clear plans of\u00a0actions were shaped. The financial markets and largest companies are fully prepared to\u00a0implement them,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>The government of\u00a0the Russian Federation will help ensure the stable operation of\u00a0sanctioned companies, maintaining jobs and wages, the press service added.<\/p>\n<p>The Finance Ministry together with the Bank of\u00a0Russia \u201cwill continue closely monitoring the situation on\u00a0financial markets and will take additional measures to\u00a0support financial stability, if\u00a0necessary,\u201d the statement said.
