The basic foundation and policy framework have been built. From the next quarter, which is the quarter starting April, we should be operationalised,&#8221; Kamath said at an event organised\u00a0\u00a0by the Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers&#8217; Association (ICEMA).<\/p>\n<p> He said a core team of 25 people is already in place and the process of selection of the CEO and other leaders to run the bank is underway.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_5\" id=\"trade-1836738790\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_2_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7925020301\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p> The DFI will fund projects from both private and public sectors, wherever there is a need, he said.<\/p>\n<p> Kamath has been appointed as the chairman of the DFI\u00a0for a period of three years by the government in October last year.<\/p>\n<p> The DFI has been set up with a view to supporting the development of long-term non-recourse infrastructure financing in India, including development of the bonds and derivatives markets necessary for infrastructure financing and to carry on the business of financing infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p> It will help fund about 7,000 infra projects under the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP), which envisages an investment of Rs 111 lakh crore by 2024-25.<\/p>\n<p> The government has committed a Rs 5,000-crore grant over and above Rs 20,000-crore equity capital\u00a0for NaBFID.<\/p>\n<p> Kamath said the bank will raise funds from pension and insurance companies, which have long-term funds.
