{"id":38858,"date":"2022-04-28T16:05:59","date_gmt":"2022-04-28T10:35:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/biz-jk-tyre-water-usage\/"},"modified":"2022-04-28T16:05:59","modified_gmt":"2022-04-28T10:35:59","slug":"biz-jk-tyre-water-usage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/biz-jk-tyre-water-usage\/","title":{"rendered":"JK Tyre plans to reduce 65 pc raw water usage by 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"trade-content_2\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\" id=\"trade-3861517299\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/get\/telegram\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-101992\" src=\"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/telegram-channel-300x119.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"148\" height=\"59\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/news.google.com\/publications\/CAAqBwgKMN3Epgswxc--Aw?hl=en-IN&amp;gl=IN&amp;ceid=IN%3Aen\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-123430\" src=\"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/follow-on-google-news-300x82.png\" alt=\"follow-on-google-news\" width=\"222\" height=\"61\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/follow-on-google-news-300x82.png 300w, https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/follow-on-google-news-150x41.png 150w, https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/features\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/follow-on-google-news.png 468w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 222px) 100vw, 222px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><p>New Delhi, Apr 28 (PTI) JK Tyre &#038; Industries Ltd on Thursday announced plans to reduce its raw water usage for manufacturing processes across all its plants in India by over 65 per cent from the base year of 2013-14 by 2025.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_7\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\" id=\"trade-2419942495\"><!-- Composite Start --> \r\n <div id=\"M923760ScriptRootC1549812\"> \r\n <\/div> \r\n <script src=\"https:\/\/jsc.mgid.com\/t\/r\/tradebrains.in.1549812.js\" async> \r\n <\/script> \r\n <!-- Composite End --><\/div>\n<p>As part of a strategy to reduce its environmental footprint and also help mitigate business risks, the company said by the financial year 2024-25, it will replace 50 per cent of its coal usage with biomass.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the initiative, JK Tyre &#038; Industries Manufacturing Director Anil Makkar said, &#8220;We are strictly monitoring our water usage through the installation of water metres at key points in our manufacturing units, and constantly aiming to improve the water efficiency of our operations, along with reducing our use of groundwater&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>He further said, the company&#8217;s Kankroli and Chennai plants have already achieved zero raw water usage for processes.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_5\" id=\"trade-999131714\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_2_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7925020301\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;We use raw water only for drinking purposes in the two plants,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>As an outcome of systematic initiatives over the last five years, the company claimed that it has emerged as &#8220;a global benchmark for the lowest raw water use per kg of tyre manufactured&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At JK Tyre, we have long recognised water availability as a business risk and therefore, we are focused on proactive assessment and planning for water security at all our manufacturing locations essentially through continuous improvement of water efficiency (water use per tonne of the finished product) of our operations,&#8221; Makkar said.<\/p>\n<p>Besides water, the company said coal is another aspect that it has huge plans for.<\/p>\n<p>By the financial year 2024-25, JK Tyre said it will replace 50 per cent of its coal usage with biomass.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The shift would, however, entail significant investments as we will have to make changes in our boilers.
