I think it should be resisted at every step,&#8221; the eminent economist said.<\/p>\n<p>Rajan, currently a Professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, said that\u00a0India has strong growth today but one has to be careful about growth numbers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Any growth obviously should be celebrated. But we can&#8217;t ignore the fact that the strong growth is from\u00a0disastrous\u00a0numbers posted in the last fiscal year,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The eminent economist pointed out that India has\u00a0been underperforming ever since the global financial crisis.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have not created good jobs that we need&#8230;despite the strong growth, we are significantly below the pre-pandemic trend line,&#8221; he noted.<\/p>\n<p>According to Rajan,\u00a0\u00a0India&#8217;s export performance has been good but not spectacular.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content-10\" id=\"trade-2425240625\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_3_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"2969612066\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p>The eminent economist stressed on increasing female\u00a0labour force participation in India.<\/p>\n<p>He however added: &#8220;Even during the last decade of slow growth India has had some successes But we need to do better.&#8221; Noting that data is needed for making the right decision, Rajan said,&#8221; We need a learning government.
