The benchmark indices started the week by scaling to highs for the first time in thirteen months. The Sensex reached a record high of 63583.07 points and the Nifty touched 18887.60 points.&nbsp;<\/p><p>On Friday, the BSE Sensex ended the week lower at 62868.50 points, and the NSE Nifty 50 settled at 18,696.10 points.&nbsp;<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-market-movers\"><strong>Market movers&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2><p>Some of the top gainers this week were Raymond Ltd. (up 21.63%), Network 18 Media &amp; Investments Ltd. (up 17.87%), One97 Communications Ltd. (up 15.42%), Varun Beverages Ltd. (up 14.47%), and The New India Assurance Company Ltd. (down 6.94%), Allcargo Logistics Ltd. (down 5.84%), Gujarat State Petronet Ltd. (down 5.42%), Granules India Ltd. (down 4.77%), and Schaeffler India Ltd. (down 4.72%).&nbsp;<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Recap&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2><p>In this week\u2019s recap, we shall take a look at the Vehicle scrappage policy, credit card purchases, the resignation of NDTV\u2019s directors, Zomato\u2019s bulk deal, India\u2019s electricity consumption&nbsp;<\/p><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Vehicle Scrappage Policy&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4><p>Union Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari, said that all government-owned vehicles that have completed 15 years will be scrapped from April 1, 2023. The policy was sent to all the state governments and it is supposed to be adopted at the state level. <\/p><p>This policy will help in reducing emissions from worn-down vehicles, give impetus to the auto industry, and provide automobile scrap as a cheaper raw material to the steel industry. In the long run, this will promote a circular economy.\u00a0<\/p><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Credit Card Purchases reach an all-time high&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4><p>Credit card spending touched an all-time high of \u20b9 1.29 trillion in October, aided by festival season purchases. The board of RRPR Holding has approved the appointment of Sudipta Bhattacharya, Sanjay Pugalia and Senthil Sinniah Chengalvarayan as Directors on<\/p><p>its board with immediate effect, NDTV said. The Adani Group is also conducting an open offer running between November 22 and December 5 for a 26 per cent stake in NDTV, post its acquisition.&nbsp;<\/p><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Alipay Singapore sells a 3% stake in Zomato for Rs 1,631 crore&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4><p>Alipay Singapore, an arm of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, on Wednesday sold a 3.07 per cent stake in online food delivery aggregator Zomato for Rs 1,631 crore through an open market transaction. It offloaded a total of 26,28,73,507 shares, amounting to a 3.07 per cent stake in the company, at an average price of \u20b9 62.06 per share, taking the transaction value to 1,631.39 crores. <\/p><p>On the other hand, Camas Investments Pte, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singaporean sovereign wealth fund Temasek acquired 9.80 crore shares of the company.\u00a0<\/p><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>India\u2019s electricity consumption grows 14% to 112.81 billion units in Nov <\/strong><\/h4><p>According to government data, India\u2019s power consumption grew by 13.6 per cent to 112.81 billion units in November 2022 compared to the year-ago period.
