Industries have thus found lab-grown diamonds to be a profitable alternative.\u00a0 These lab-grown or man-made diamonds (LGDs) are grown inside a lab using cutting-edge technologies under specific parameters. They have a similar physical appearance, chemical composition and optical qualities as natural diamonds.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content_5\" id=\"trade-572552589\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_2_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7925020301\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p>An LGD is produced using a seed, which is a crucial raw material.\u00a0 &#8220;It is estimated that by 2025, global gems and Jewellery exports will see LGD contribute 10 per cent, thereby possessing the potential to propel economic growth. There will be a substantial decrease in the dependence on imports, which will assist in reducing foreign exchange remittances.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Employment opportunities shall too, increase and ancillary areas as well shall see the creation of employment opportunities, if the duty on seeds is abolished,&#8221; founder and Managing Director of Kama Jewelry Colin Shah said.<\/p>\n<p>He is also the former chairman of the gem and jewellery export promotion council.<\/p>\n<p>About jewellery repair policy, Shah said that countries like UAE, Hong Kong and Turkey are major competitors of India as they have a simple policy of re-importing jewellery for repair and sending it abroad.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;India undoubtedly has the potential to be the global repair capital in gems and jewellery. Large exporters shall find it easy to open their service centres here for the import and re-export of jewellery exported by them abroad on an outright basis. This will create jobs, transfer technology and increase exports from India,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Urging for a diamond package, Surat-based Indian Diamond Institute Chairman Dinesh Navadiya said the gem and jewellery industry is requesting the government to announce supporting measures for the industry in the forthcoming Budget as it holds huge potential to create jobs and increase exports.<\/p><div class=\"trade-content-10\" id=\"trade-4294671896\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- in_content_3_news -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4023722985638610\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"2969612066\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p>According to the council, gems and jewellery exports stood at USD\u00a02.5 billion in November 2022 against USD 2.4 billion in the same month the previous year.
