Israel-Iran Conflict Intensifies as Missile Strikes Escalate on Both Sides

The deadly conflict between Israel and Iran has entered its fourth day, with both nations escalating their military offensives. Overnight, Iran launched a series of strikes on Israeli infrastructure, hitting an oil refinery and damaging parts of the country’s power grid.

Explosions were reported across various Israeli cities, with residential buildings among the structures affected. In response, Israeli officials stated that Iran has fired 370 ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones since hostilities began on Friday, with 30 sites in Israel successfully struck.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that the ongoing attacks have left 24 people dead and 592 injured, including 10 in critical condition. Meanwhile, Iran has suffered even heavier casualties, with its health ministry reporting at least 224 deaths since Friday, according to Iranian state media. As both countries widen their attacks, fears of a broader regional conflict are mounting, with international observers urging immediate de-escalation.

An earthquake off Peru’s coast shakes the capital, leaving one person dead and 5 injured. Investigators have recovered the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) from the crashed Air India flight, a key step in uncovering what caused last week’s deadly accident.

The CVR captures audio from the cockpit, including pilot conversations, alarms, and ambient sounds. The flight data recorder (FDR), which logs crucial flight parameters like altitude, speed and engine performance, had been recovered from the debris on Friday.

Conclusion

Markets ended the day on a positive note, buoyed by strong investor sentiment and broad-based buying across sectors. Benchmark indices like the Nifty, Sensex, and Bank Nifty all posted healthy gains, reflecting resilience despite global uncertainties.

However, on the global front, rising geopolitical tensions between Israel and Iran continue to pose risks to market stability, alongside natural disasters and aviation incidents that underline the broader uncertainties impacting investor sentiment. While domestic markets remain strong, the evolving global landscape warrants cautious optimism going forwad.
