Bengaluru is the key to this success with the presence of more than <strong>1,900 Global Capability Centres (GCCs)<\/strong> and more than <strong>40% of tech startups in India.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to software, Karnataka exported goods worth more than <strong>$30 billion <\/strong>annually with engineering goods as its primary products, followed by <strong>electronics, aerospace components, biotechnology products and coffee. <\/strong>The state is also emerging as a hub for electronics manufacturing accounting for almost <strong>40% of India&#8217;s electronics exports.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p><div class=\"trade-in-content\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\" id=\"trade-598561421\"><script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\" id=\"AdsCoreLoader101144\" src=\"https:\/\/sads.adsboosters.xyz\/fbda060f29d5b8e8c653abce4ac69b7b.js\"><\/script>\r\n\u00a0<div class=\"ads-core-ads\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-maharashtra-diversified-export-economy\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>Maharashtra: Diversified export economy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Maharashtra continues to be the top state for India in terms of merchandise exports, accounting for approximately <strong>16-18% of the total goods exports from India<\/strong>. The state&#8217;s goods export is estimated at more than <strong>$85 billion <\/strong>with the extensive industrial infrastructure and the presence of the major ports like <strong>Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and Mumbai Port.<\/strong><\/p><div class=\"trade-content\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\" id=\"trade-487328816\"><div translate=\"no\" class='mailmunch-forms-widget-1169732'><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The state&#8217;s export basket is very diversified. Maharashtra is also India&#8217;s largest exporter of gems and jewellery, with Mumbai accounting for almost <strong>70 -75% of India&#8217;s diamond export business.<\/strong> The state is one of the leading exporters of <strong>pharmaceuticals, chemicals, engineering goods, machine, automotive industry and automobile parts.<\/strong> The state is also a big industrial hub, producing almost <strong>15% of India&#8217;s industrial output<\/strong>, and around <strong>14% of the country&#8217;s GDP<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-tamil-nadu-manufacturing-and-automobile-exports-nbsp\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>Tamil Nadu: Manufacturing and Automobile exports&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tamil Nadu has become one of India&#8217;s biggest engines of export, accounting for <strong>$43.6 billion <\/strong>in merchandise exports during FY24, securing the third position in the country. As compared to other export economies which are dominated by a few sectors, Tamil Nadu has created a diversified export base across the different sectors including <strong>automobiles, electronics, engineering goods, textiles, leather and IT services.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p><div class=\"trade-content-2\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\" id=\"trade-3711847748\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/tradebrains.in\/get\/voltmoney\/\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" aria-label=\"LAMF3 300_250 (1)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tradebrains-wp.s3.ap-south-1.amazonaws.com\/money\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/LAMF3-300_250-1.png\" alt=\"\"  width=\"300\" height=\"250\"   \/><\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Tamil Nadu exports approximately <strong>44% of the telecom instruments,<\/strong> <strong>40% of cotton garments, 38% of textile garments, 37% of motor vehicles, 32% of auto components, 32% of electronic machinery, and 48% of leather footwear <\/strong>products to the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Electronics manufacturers are one of the largest contributors to the growth. In FY24, Tamil Nadu emerged as India&#8217;s top electronics exporter with electronics exports totaling<strong> $9.56 billion, <\/strong>a whopping <strong>78% jump from $5.37 billion in FY23<\/strong>. The state&#8217;s industrial strength, its long coast and its world class port infrastructure have made it a strong exporter with nearly <strong>$134 billion in exports.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The state&#8217;s exports are based on an eclectic mix of goods. <strong>Petroleum <\/strong>products accounted for almost <strong>46% of Gujarat&#8217;s exports <\/strong>and amounted to <strong>$61.5 billion, <\/strong>mainly because of the massive <strong>refinery plants in Jamnagar<\/strong>. Gujarat is the state with the highest number of major chemical industrial centres (Dahej, Ankleshwar, Vapi and Vadodara) and is also the largest exporter of chemicals accounting for over <strong>46% of India&#8217;s total chemical exports.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from chemicals and petroleum, Gujarat is also a leader in the <strong>gems and jewellery<\/strong> trade business internationally. The diamonds are processed in the state where more than<strong> 80%<\/strong> of the diamonds are processed in Surat which is the biggest diamond cutting and polishing centre in the world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The state accounts for almost 40% of the cargo movement in India, and has some of the busiest ports in the country such as Mundra, Kandla, Hazira and Pipavav. Gujarat is also contributing around 17% of the manufacturing output of India with only around 5% of the population of India.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-uttar-pradesh-the-fastest-growing-export-state\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>Uttar Pradesh: The fastest growing export state<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The state shipped out merchandise worth<strong> $20.6 billion <\/strong>in FY24, becoming India&#8217;s fifth largest exporter. By FY26, exports had touched a milestone for the first time, increasing <strong>8.2% YoY <\/strong>to make up<strong> 5.2% of India&#8217;s total exports.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uttar Pradesh exported electronics goods of <strong>\u20b945,000 crore in FY25<\/strong> as compared to <strong>\u20b93,862 crore in FY17, <\/strong>which is over 11 times the value. In addition, IT exports stood at<strong> \u20b982,000 crore<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to electronics, Uttar Pradesh is also a significant exporter of <strong>leather goods, textiles, handicrafts, processed food, brassware, carpets, and agricultural goods.<\/strong> Over <strong>\u20b910,000 crore worth<\/strong> of the brass goods is produced annually in Moradabad alone and the silk textile products of Varanasi, carpets of Bhadohi and leather goods of Kanpur are still in great demand in the international market.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-andhra-pradesh-leader-of-marine-export-in-india\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>Andhra Pradesh: Leader of Marine export in India<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In FY25, Andhra Pradesh became one of India&#8217;s fastest-growing export states with merchandise exports valued at <strong>\u20b91.84 lakh crore<\/strong>, ranking India&#8217;s top exporters. The state has also improved its ranking from 8th to 5th in the NITI Aayog&#8217;s Export Preparedness Index based on the improvement of the export ecosystem and infrastructure in the state.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marine exports are the largest benefit of the state. About <strong>38% of marine exports<\/strong> in the country comes from Andhra Pradesh and it has been the largest seafood-exporting state in India for years. Marine product exports were worth <strong>\u20b928,466 crores<\/strong> ($3.2 billion) in FY25, and the frozen shrimp and prawns continue to be the main marine export items.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fastest-growing exports are engineering goods, which made up <strong>20.8% <\/strong>of the total exports, and marine products at <strong>15.5%. <\/strong>The state is also a significant exporter of pharmaceuticals, rice, tobacco, petroleum products, ferro-alloys, spices and sugar. The pharmaceutical exports were over <strong>\u20b910,875 crore<\/strong> in case of the pharma cluster of Visakhapatnam and above <strong>\u20b95,500 crore <\/strong>in the case of automobile exports.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-conclusion\" style=\"font-size:22px\"><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Karnataka has the most thriving software-intensive exports, Maharashtra has a diversified industrial base, Tamil Nadu is the leading state in advanced manufacturing, Gujarat is the powerhouse of chemical and engineering exports, Uttar Pradesh is becoming an electronics hub and Andhra Pradesh is the front-runner for marine exports.
