The project is spread over <strong>1,052 acres,<\/strong> with an approval of cost of <strong>\u20b91,894 crore,<\/strong> and is being executed by a <strong>Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) <\/strong>under the <strong>PM MITRA Scheme.<\/strong> It is estimated that the park would <strong>attract more than \u20b910,000 crore <\/strong>of investments and provide around <strong>1 lakh direct and indirect employment<\/strong>, and would establish a complete textile ecosystem from spinning and weaving to processing, garment manufacturing, technical textiles, logistics and exports. The park is already being developed and is expected to be <strong>completed by December 2027.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-virudhunagar\" style=\"font-size:22px\"><strong>Why Virudhunagar?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strategic textile location: <\/strong>Virudhunagar is located in the centre of the southern portion of the textile region of Tamil Nadu and there is already a textile processing unit, spinning mills and garment manufacturing unit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Proximity to major textile hubs:<\/strong> The park is ideally located near major textile hubs such as <strong>Tiruppur, Madurai, Coimbatore and Sivakasi,<\/strong> enabling easy integration with existing textile supply chains.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Export connectivity:<\/strong> <strong>Thoothukudi Port<\/strong> is one of the prominent export hubs in India with the facility to connect goods to the port, it helps the manufacturers to utilize with the reduction of logistics costs and also improves the export efficiency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Well established road and rail transport system: <\/strong>Raw materials and finished products are moved through a well-developed road and rail system, using NH-44 and important rail lines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Availability of skilled workforce: <\/strong>Tamil Nadu has a large share of spinning capacity and textile labour force in India which helps in providing skilful workforce.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Raw material advantage: <\/strong>Availability of cotton growing areas in the region and a large base of yarn manufacturing industry supporting the value chain from fibre to finished product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Supportive industrial ecosystem:<\/strong> The existing industrial infrastructure, ancillary industries in the area and the government support makes Virudhunagar a Infrastructure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The PM MITRA Park at Virudhunagar is being built as a fully-fledged textile manufacturing complex having modern industrial and social infrastructure
