In recent years, bilateral trade has never dropped below US$35 billion. Indonesia has a trade surplus with India, with coal and palm oil being the main exports. The two nations are fostering more than just trade ties in the fields of defence, digital economy, renewable energy, health and maritime connectivity and infrastructure. Both governments are working towards deepening the economic integration and investment cooperation in the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mega-india-indonesia-investment-amp-infrastructure-projects\" style=\"font-size:22px\"><strong>Mega India\u2013Indonesia Investment &amp; Infrastructure Projects<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sabang Port Development (Indonesia): <\/strong>India has joined up on developing Sabang Port which is located strategically near the <strong>Strait of Malacca<\/strong> (through which 4<strong>0% of global trade passes<\/strong>), or improving maritime connectivity, logistics and Indo-Pacific cooperation. The port is only about 100 miles (160 km) from India&#8217;s upcoming $9 billion Great Nicobar transshipment terminal.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Andaman\u2013Aceh Maritime Connectivity:<\/strong> Both nations are making efforts to further deepen the <strong>shipping connectivity between the Nicobar and Aceh Provinces<\/strong> of India and Indonesia for trade, tourism and cargo movement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>RE Cooperation: I<\/strong>ndian companies join hands with Indonesian companies for solar energy, biofuels and the green hydrogen value chain to support India&#8217;s and Indonesia&#8217;s clean energy goals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Digital &amp; Fintech Partnerships: <\/strong>The two countries are pledging investments in digital payments, fintech, startups, AI &amp; digital public infrastructure, offering technology companies opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Defence manufacturing:<\/strong> India will sell the supersonic cruise BrahMos missiles to Indonesia for an estimated <strong>$630 million<\/strong>, in what is expected to be one of India&#8217;s biggest defence export deals and will be part of further defence-industrial cooperation between the two nations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Minerals &amp; Manufacturing:<\/strong> Indonesia holds nearly 42% of the world\u2019s nickel reserves.
