What Is the Proposed Elevated Corridor Project?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The government of Karnataka has said yes to a plan to make the roads better in the central part of Bengaluru. Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Limited, which is also known as B-SMILE <\/strong>has made a report for this project. The report is about a 7 kilometer elevated corridor <\/strong>from Minerva Circle to Hudson Circle<\/strong> and <\/em>a loop that will go over the existing BGS Flyover<\/strong> and connect it to Town Hall<\/strong> and there will be another elevated corridor that will connect Anand Rao Circle to KR Circle. <\/strong>When this project is done it will help reduce the traffic jam at some of the busiest intersections in Bengaluru and it will also make it easier to travel through the business district of Bengaluru.<\/p>

Why Is This Project Needed?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Traffic is a big problem in Central Bengaluru especially on JC Road, Minerva Circle, Hudson Circle<\/strong> and other places where roads meet. When it is very busy, cars and buses can only go about 15 to 20 kilometers per hour<\/strong>. It can take a time to get from Minerva Circle to Hudson Circle, usually around 25 to 30 minutes, <\/strong>they want to build a road up high to help with this problem. This new road should help reduce the time we wait at traffic lights, make traffic move better and get people from South Bengaluru to the central part of the city, which is where many businesses are, more quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The proposed elevated corridor is a traffic solution <\/strong>for Central Bengaluru<\/strong>, it is not just a flyover, it connects elevated road sections which helps in movement across the city centre. It also connects existing flyovers and major roads<\/strong>; the project includes a roundabout at Hudson Circle. The Lalbagh West Gate junction will be improved and the project will work with existing infrastructure, like Namma Metro.<\/strong> It will also include pedestrian underpasses, skywalks and utility networks <\/strong>which will help reduce problems during construction.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
