India had major FDI inflows in billions during April 2000-March 2026, coming from countries like Singapore (24.72%), followed by Mauritius at 23.71%, the USA at 10.39%, the Netherlands at 7.19% and Japan at 6.11%. But why are these countries investing in India in such huge amounts, the reason behind the investments are the top states that are constantly developing and catching the eyes of countries globally.<\/p>

Maharashtra gets the highest foreign investment in India because Maharashtra has a good system for money and industries<\/strong>. Mumbai<\/strong> is India’s financial capital, it has major banks, stock exchanges and many corporations have their headquarters in Mumbai. Pune is <\/strong>famous for its automobiles, IT, and Global Capability Centres (GCCs)<\/strong>. There is another city called Navi Mumbai<\/strong> which’s good for logistics, data centres, and infrastructure projects. Nagpur<\/strong> is a city which attracts a lot of investments in warehousing and manufacturing<\/strong> because it is easy to move things from there to places. Maharashtra has good roads, airports and ports <\/strong>which makes it easy for people to do business there, that is why many foreign investors like to put their money in Maharashtra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karnataka <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Karnataka gets 22%<\/strong> of India’s foreign investment<\/strong> in the year 2026 <\/strong>because it has a good system for technology and new ideas.<\/strong> Bengaluru is a hub for IT <\/strong>and GCCs<\/strong> in India, it gets a lot of investment in software, artificial intelligence, financial technology, big company centers and research work<\/strong>.<\/strong> Mysuru is becoming a major place for IT, manufacturing and datacentres.<\/strong> Mangaluru attracts investments due its ports, petrochemicals and logistics industries<\/strong>. H<\/strong>ubballi-Dharwad<\/strong> is also growing in manufacturing and engineering work, <\/strong>so Karnataka is a good place for global technology and industrial investments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delhi made up 11% of India’s FDI equity inflows in FY26<\/strong> because of its consumer market <\/strong>and the strong services sector.<\/strong> New Delhi<\/strong> is the place where the country’s government works and businesses operate<\/strong>. This area brings in investments in finance, consulting <\/strong>and corporate services.<\/strong> The bigger NCR area, which includes<\/strong> Gurugram<\/strong> has become a place for multinational companies <\/strong>and it is also home to Global Capability Centres, fintech companies and startups. <\/strong>Noida<\/strong> is a place for electronics manufacturing, IT and data centres, the region has transportation links, modern buildings and a skilled group of workers,<\/strong> all these things keep making the area appealing to investors.<\/p>
