The Portugal National football team has clinched their spot for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after demolishing Armenia to a 9-1 victory. This victory gives Ronaldo a commanding opportunity to play his sixth World Cup tournament for Portugal. Despite him missing the qualifiers against Armenia due to a one match suspension.
The 40-year-old Portugal star’s team have ensured their spot in the list of qualifiers for the World Cup which begins next June in the United States, Canada and Mexico. This is indicated towards Ronaldo’s last chance to win the World Cup for his country.

Portugal and Armenia took on each other on Sunday, October 16. Bruno Fernandes and Joao Neves scored hat-tricks in their crucial game against Armenia with a 9-1 defeat, compensating Ronaldo’s red card suspension during the qualifiers round against Ireland.
Although, Ronaldo will have chances of facing a two-match suspension following his send off against Ireland with a 2-0 loss. The victory was crucial for Portugal after their unexpected defeat to Ireland; they needed to beat Armenia to guarantee the top position in group F.
Hungary had an opportunity to overtake Portugal for the group lead but suffered a dramatic 3-2 loss against Ireland at Budapest. Ronaldo recently stated that it would be his last World Cup to win for his country. If he manages his fitness levels, he will play the tournament.
