Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have again showcased their major impact on the field by scoring crucial goals for their teams in their latest matches.

The race to 1000 career goals between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is heating up. The two all time greats of football history currently stand at 952 and 892 goals of their career. The latest two fixtures for their respective teams have gotten them a step closer towards their milestone.

Messi scored a stunning goal from outside the box giving Inter Miami a goal against Nashville FC. However, Inter Miami fell short as Nashville FC had a lead of 2-1 at home, forcing a third and decisive game in the first round of MLS playoffs which will be played on Saturday, November 8 at the Chase stadium in Miami.

Messi’s goal was of pure brilliance, proving his fans that he can still do it amid a tough time during the match where the club fought hard on chances. Messi played a central creative role, combining well with teammates like Luis Suarez, dictating in an attacking play for the team in the later stages. However, Nashville’s early goals and rock defence prevented Miami from getting past them.

In Saudi Arabia, the Portuguese star proved his consistency by scoring two more goals with Al-Nassr against Al-Feiha in a new round of the Saudi Pro League. Thefirst goals were assisted by Sadio Mane in the 37th minute then broke the draw with a penalty in the 94th minute leading the club to victory.

At the age of 40, Cristiano Ronaldo has shown his peak fitness levels by maintaining the same consistency on the field throughout. The Portuguese has scored 952 goals and 259 assists in 1295 match appearances.

Even if it doesn’t happen this season, Ronaldo is most certain to achieve his milestone in the next league with just 48 more goals. For Messi, with just 108 goals away from his milestone, the Argentinian will be able to achieve it in the next 2 seasons since he extended his contract with the MLS club.
