Real Madrid’s travelling squad to face Liverpool

  • Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin, Gonzalez
  • Defenders: Militao, Alexander-Arnold, Asencio, Carreras, Garcia, Mendy, Huijsen
  • Midfielders: Bellingham, Camavinga, Valverde, Tchouameni, Guler, Ceballos
  • Forwards: Vinicius Jr, Endrick, Mbappe, Rodrygo, Gonzalo, Brahim.

Trent Alexander Arnold has been included in the 22-man squad for their game against Liverpool, playing against his former club at Anfield. Since Real Madrid’s captain Dani Carvajal suffered another knee injury, this means that either Alexander Arnold or Valverde should start at right back.

The English player hasn’t had quite a settling start with the Spanish club after he was benched for six games suffering a hamstring injury against Marseille in September. The other key players that would miss out on the match are Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba, who have long-term hamstring and calf injuries respectively.

Madrid haven’t trained at Anfield ahead of their match against Liverpool, instead chose to train at Valdebebas before flying out to Anfield. The Real Madrid manager and the former Liverpool midfielder revealed on Saturday saying, “It’s my decision because we have to prepare for the match and we prefer to do it at our training ground, in our own space, so that we’re not surrounded by 200 cameras.”

Liverpool’s feelings won’t change, says Alexander Arnold

After receiving hate and criticism from his former club, the former defender for Liverpool, Alexander Arnold, says that his feelings for Liverpool would never change irrespective of the criticism he gets.

“No matter what, my feelings won’t change towards Liverpool,” the 27-year-old full-back told Amazon Prime, when asked if getting a good reception back at Anfield would give him closure.

“I have got memories there that will last me a lifetime and no matter how I am received, that won’t change. I think whichever way I am received is the decision of the fans. I will always love the club. I will always be a fan of the club. I will always be thankful for the opportunities [Liverpool gave me] and everything that we achieved together will live with me forever.”

Madrid have won 10 out of 11 La Liga games, losing a game against Atletico Madrid to 5-2. Besides that, Real Madrid is one of the few teams to have a 100 percent record win in the Champions league.
