What to Expect in the 2nd ODI
The same location means that both teams are already well aware of the conditions. Once again batting will play an important role but it will be the spinners who will decide the game in the middle overs. Pakistan will go for the kill tomorrow while South Africa will try hard to come back and make it a tie series 1-1. The onus is now more on South Africa because another defeat will mean their exit from the tournament courtesy of the series being ended for them.
Pakistan will want their top-order to provide a stronger start this time while South Africa will hope that their veterans like de Kock and Brevis will shoulder more responsibility. Another closely-fought battle is anticipated, as both sides have match winners who can swing the tide of the game at any time.
1st ODI Summary: Pakistan won by 2 wickets
In the first ODI, South Africa struggled to post 263 runs, which was a difficult target for the local team at Faisalabad. So far, Pakistan successfully pursued the target and scored 264 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, thus winning the match by 2 wickets.
The middle order was very important during the pressure phases and they took the chase carefully even though there were frequent losses of wickets. Pakistan displayed nerves of steel and know-how in the last few overs and that is why they managed to get through.
