Cricket West Indies has officially unveiled its selection of 15 players for the upcoming series of five T20I matches in New Zealand. This decision is a crucial part of the team’s preparations for the major events to come.
The return of the all-rounder, Matthew Forde, has been one of the most exciting aspects of the selection; he is coming back to the team after the recovery from the shoulder injury. His presence is a great asset for the pace-bowling and all-rounders’ options of the Windies team.
The selectors have kept the majority of the main players from the previous series, which indicates that they are confident of the team to provide the right balance. The pace battery includes Rovman Powell and Jason Holder, while the batting order consists of the hard-hitting duo Brandon King and Sherfane Rutherford.
On the other hand, there is a conspicuous absence: the left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie will not participate in the tour due to a problem with his bowling action and will go back to rehabilitate.
The New Zealand series will grant five T20 matches to West Indies in tough conditions – the bad side of it is that it will be time-consuming and tiring to work on the team-building process, but still, it is the best way to prepare. With the T20 World Cup coming up, every match is important.
