And this time, it looks like Gujarat Titans\u2019 all-rounder Washington Sundar could be part of their revival plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news18.com\/cricket\/washington-sundar-to-replace-ashwin-in-csk-report-claims-massive-trade-deal-with-gujarat-titans-ws-kl-9651649.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Samayam Tamil<\/strong><\/a>, the Gujarat Titans are close to completing the Washington Sundar-to-CSK trade for \u20b93.2 crore, the same amount they paid for him during the IPL 2025 auction. GT reportedly struggled to get the best out of Sundar, especially his dual role as a powerplay spinner and lower-order hitter. That has opened the door for CSK to swoop in and bring the Tamil Nadu star back home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding more weight to the rumours, a discussion on Ravichandran Ashwin\u2019s YouTube channel set social media buzzing. One of Ashwin\u2019s close associates, who\u2019s part of the Tamil Nadu Premier League setup with Dindigul Dragons, hinted that the deal is indeed real and already in progress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The ROKO Show! According to him, the trade is \u201cconfidential but genuine,\u201d and fans might not have to wait long for an official confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A post on Reddit also added fuel to the fire. A user quoted the same insider saying that \u201cthe Washington Sundar to CSK trade is happening,\u201d calling it a top-secret move known only to a few close to the players. They lost tight games to Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, and RCB, matches they could have won if their middle order had scored more runs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those narrow defeats hurt, and it\u2019s one of the main reasons they\u2019re now eyeing someone dependable like Washington Sundar. Sundar brings calmness under pressure. He can bowl tight overs in the powerplay and still walk out and score quick runs when needed, exactly the kind of balance CSK have been missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The easiest way for the trade to happen is through a cash deal. Chennai can buy Washington Sundar directly from Gujarat Titans without including any other player in the exchange. For Sundar, it would be special to play for his hometown team and perform in front of the Chepauk fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, if Gujarat prefer a player exchange, CSK might still be open to it. Someone like Shivam Dube or Sam Curran could be part of the discussion, which would make the deal fair for both teams.
