Elon Musk’s Craze to add Microchip in your Brain!

“We will not be able to be smarter than a digital supercomputer, so, therefore, if you can’t beat them, join them”.

The ‘not the 1st richest man anymore’ wants to give you an extra brain! Yes, you guessed it: I’m talking about Elon Musk.

Man has been busy these days ‘firing’…… rockets into space, along with lots of stuff including the recent ChatBot GPT (also famous as ‘Google Killer’). However, his latest venture, Neuralink, is possibly his most out-of-this-world ever.

Musk founded Neuralink in 2016 with the hope to unleash the full potential of the human brain by developing implantable brain-machine interfaces (BMIs) and to achieve “symbiosis” between the human brain and AI.

But what exactly is a BMI and how does it work? A BMI, in a nutshell, is a device that can be implanted in the brain, allowing it to communicate with computers or other machines. This could enable humans to control machines with their thoughts, or even improve their cognitive abilities to a whole new level.

Yes, I’m talking about wireless microchips to be implanted in human brains. The company believes to create a brain chip implant that will be able to restore sight in blind people and could even give people with severed spinal cords the ability to walk again.

But, where there is Elon Musk, how can there not be any controversy?

It’s been alleged that the company first tested its technology on animals, killing over 1,500 since 2018, including sheep, pigs, and monkeys, as per Reuters. Neuralink has also conducted research using rats and mice.

You might be shocked to know that Neuralink has applied for Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval to begin human trials in the next 6 months. That’s right, we could be less than a year away from having microchips implanted in human brains.

I’m sure there are a few people who, like me, are wondering who in their right mind would sign up for this. But did you know, Musk himself has claimed that he plans to implant one of the devices into his own brain once they’re ready?

So, what can we expect from Neuralink in the future? It’s hard to say for sure, but one thing is certain: the possibilities are endless. And who knows, if it works the way it’s planned, it could be a game-changing technology and literally the stuff of science fiction movies.

What do you think of Elon Musk’s craze to implant microchips in human brains? Would you sign up for it?
