Synopsis: Mutual funds increased their holdings in several stocks during the June 2026 quarter, reflecting growing institutional confidence. Eight companies including Adani Enterprises and Canara Bank, have witnessed the rise in mutual fund ownership in Q1 FY27.

Mutual fund ownership is often viewed as a key indicator of institutional confidence, as fund managers typically increase exposure to companies they believe have strong long-term growth prospects and robust fundamentals. Rising institutional participation can also improve liquidity and enhance investor sentiment.

During the June 2026 quarter, mutual funds increased their holdings across companies from diverse sectors, including infrastructure, banking, power transmission, pharmaceuticals, jewellery retail, industrial engineering, auto components, and healthcare, reflecting broad-based interest across multiple themes of the Indian economy.

Adani Enterprises Ltd

Adani Enterprises Ltd is the flagship company of the Adani Group and serves as its business incubator. It develops and scales businesses across airports, roads, data centers, green hydrogen, mining services, integrated resource management, and other infrastructure sectors before they mature into independent listed entities. 

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 4,26,711 cr, the shares of Adani Enterprises Ltd were trading at Rs. 3152.85 per share, down from its previous close of Rs. 3,160.15 per share. Mutual fund holdings increased their stake from 2.71% in Q4FY26 to 5.40% in Q1FY27.

Canara Bank

Canara Bank is one of India’s largest public sector banks, offering a wide range of banking and financial services, including retail banking, corporate banking, MSME lending, agriculture finance, and digital banking. It has an extensive branch network across the country.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 1,15,560 cr, the shares of Canara Bank were trading at Rs. 127.40 per share, up from its previous close of Rs. 125.05 per share. Mutual fund holdings increased their stake from 5.01% in Q4FY26 to 6.31% in Q1FY27.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd is one of India’s leading private-sector power transmission companies. It is engaged in power transmission, distribution, smart metering, and energy infrastructure, playing a key role in strengthening the country’s electricity network and supporting renewable energy integration.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 2,07,731 cr, the shares of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd were trading at Rs. 1729.25 per share, up from its previous close of Rs. 1,722.80 per share. Mutual fund holdings increased their stake from 6.59% in Q4FY26 to 8.08% in Q1FY27.

Ajanta Pharma Ltd

Ajanta Pharma Ltd is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on developing, manufacturing, and marketing branded generic medicines. It has a strong presence in therapeutic areas such as cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, and pain management, with operations spanning both domestic and international markets.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 43,116 cr, the shares of Ajanta Pharma Ltd were trading at Rs. 3451.10 per share, up from its previous close of Rs. 3,416.80 per share. Mutual fund holdings increased their stake from 15.22% in Q4FY26 to 18.10% in Q1FY27.

Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd

Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd is one of India’s leading jewellery retailers, offering a wide range of gold, diamond, platinum, and silver jewellery. The company operates an extensive network of showrooms across India and the Middle East under brands such as Kalyan Jewellers and Candere.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 58,494 cr, the shares of Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd were trading at Rs. 566.40 per share, down from its previous close of Rs. 574.65 per share. Mutual fund holdings increased their stake from 13.63% in Q4FY26 to 15.41% in Q1FY27.

Cemindia Projects Ltd

Cemindia Projects Ltd is an engineering and project solutions company specializing in material handling systems, cement plant equipment, bulk material storage, and industrial infrastructure. It provides design, engineering, procurement, and project execution services for cement and other process industries.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 27,537 cr, the shares of Cemindia Projects Ltd were trading at Rs. 1603 per share, down from its previous close of Rs. 1,605.35 per share. Mutual fund holdings increased their stake from 1.41% in Q4FY26 to 2.31% in Q1FY27.

Craftsman Automation Ltd

Craftsman Automation Ltd is a diversified engineering company engaged in manufacturing precision components, powertrain products, aluminium products, and industrial and engineering solutions. It primarily caters to the automotive, industrial, and commercial vehicle sectors in India and overseas.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 24,161 cr, the shares of Craftsman Automation Ltd were trading at Rs. 9238 per share, up from its previous close of Rs. 9,099.35 per share. Mutual fund holdings increased their stake from 20.47% in Q4FY26 to 23.82% in Q1FY27.

Corona Remedies Ltd

Corona Remedies Ltd is a fast-growing Indian pharmaceutical company engaged in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of branded formulations. It has a strong presence in therapeutic segments such as women’s healthcare, cardiology, diabetes, pain management, and gastroenterology, with products marketed across India.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 12,543 cr, the shares of Corona Remedies Ltd were trading at Rs. 2051 per share, down from its previous close of Rs. 2,068 per share. Mutual fund holdings increased their stake from 6.35% in Q4FY26 to 12.50% in Q1FY27.
