Season five of Stranger Things is knocking on your door. The three volume season seems promising to bring a massive apocalyptic destruction. But hey! There are few things you need to refresh before you watch the concluding season.
It has been almost a decade since the franchise was introduced. Don’t fret, you don’t need to re-watch the entire four seasons because we have brought you every miniscule detail here in this blog that will bind the finale.
1. Hawkins Has Been Breached
The boundary between the real world and the Upside Down is gone. After Max’s heart briefly stopped, four massive gates converged, tearing the town apart with huge fissures.
The entire area is under a government-imposed quarantine and with the devastation being publicly blamed on a 7.4 magnitude earthquake. The Upside Down is literally bleeding into Hawkins.
2. Max Is in a Coma with an Uncertain Fate
In a heartbreaking turn, Max Mayfield became Vecna’s fourth victim and died for a full minute before Eleven remotely restarted her heart. She is now in a coma and her limbs are broken and blinded.
When Eleven attempts to reach her consciousness in the Void she finds only darkness. This leaves Max’s condition and survival a major unanswered question for Season 5.
3. Vecna Is Alive, Wounded, and Not Done
The multi-pronged attack on Vecna (aka Henry Creel/One) by Nancy, Steve, and Robin in the Upside Down and Eleven in Max’s mind severely wounded him, but it wasn’t enough.
He escaped before they could deliver a fatal blow. The final moments confirm he is still out there, gathering strength and putting the rest of his plan into motion.
4. Will Byers Still Has a Strong Connection to the Villain
The first person taken by the Upside Down in Season 1 can still sense Vecna’s presence. The “chill on the back of his neck” and the “goosebumps” are clear indicators that the villain is not only alive but close by and Will will be vital to the final season’s plot.
5. The Upside Down is Frozen in Time
November 6th 1983 was the day when Will first disappeared. This signals the mystery that Upside Down is permanently stuck in time. The main reason behind this freeze hasn’t been revealed.
Thus, the answer is going to hold important answers that will help the group to understand the origin of Vecna and finally defeat.
6. Eleven’s Powers Are Back and Stronger Than Ever
When Eleven undertook the “Nina Project” with Dr. Owens and a resurrected Dr. Brenner revisited her traumatic past and regained her psychokinetic abilities. She is now in a “warrior state” and more powerful than ever. She is now ready to face the monster she created when she first sent Henry Creel into the Upside Down.

7. The Gang is Back Together in Hawkins
Joyce and Hopper successfully escaped the Russian prison and the California crew made it back in the Surfer Boy Pizza van. Everyone was reunited in the devastated town of Hawkins.
With the entire team now in one place and aware of the true scale of the threat – they can finally face the final apocalyptic battle together.
Conclusion
This November 26th 2025 (Pacific Time) get ready for volume 1 containing four episodes of the new season that promises to answer most of the unanswered questions. This season might leave long time fans gasping for air.
