Fans of Vijay Sethupathi are thrilled as the Tamil actor joins the cast of Vetrimaaran’s Arasan, starring Silambarasan TR. The film, that is a part of the Vada Chennai is set to feature him in a crucial role.
Arasan producer, Kalaipuli S Thanu announced Vijay Sethupathi’s cast feature in Arasan on his social media account on Tuesday with a specially designed poster.
He captioned the post, “Manidham inaigiradhu, magathuvam therigiradhu” which translates to “Humanity connects, greatness displays”.
The poster featured the text, ‘Welcome on board Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi’. Vijay has worked with the director Vetrimaaran and Silambarasan TR in the Viduthalai franchise and in Mani Ratnam’s action film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.
Vetrimaaran has often mentioned in earlier interviews that Vijay Sethupathi was his initial choice to play the iconic Rajan in Vada Chennai, a role the actor could not take up due to scheduling constraints. His signing for Arasan suggests that the possibility of a richly crafted and pivotal role tailored for his range and screen presence.
The film has created a huge buzz on social media among fans ever since the production has released a promo for the movie.
The music for the film will be scored by Anirudh Ravichandran.
Rumours went around where there were speculation surrounding his second part of his eagerly awaited film ‘Vada Chennai’ where Vetrimaaran put an end to those rumours.

Vetrimaaran stated that his next film, Arasan would not be the sequel of ‘Vada Chennai’. However, he made it clear that the plot of Arasan would revolve around the word of Vada Chennai.
The production of the film is yet to set floors as the team remains optimistic that an amicable settlement will clear the way for filming to begin soon. Vijay Sethupathi’s inclusion has renewed industry attention, positioning Arasan as one of the most awaited Kollywood films set to commence production.
