Miss Universe runner-up, Celina Jaitly has filed a case against her husband Peter Haag in the Mumbai Court. In the complaint, she says Haag repeatedly belittled her, called her a “maidservant.
He even isolated her across countries and pressured her into signing over properties. The case is being heard at the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court (Andheri Court) before S. C. Tayde.
Celina is seeking ₹50 crore in compensation and ₹10 lakh for monthly maintenance. Legal notices have been issued to Peter Haag and the matter is postponed for hearing on 12 December 2025.
Peter Haag currently resides in Australia and is expected to appear before the court on the mentioned date for the legal proceedings.
Who Is Peter Haag?
According to several media reports, Peter Haag is being described as an Austrian entrepreneur and hotelier with experience in the hospitality sectors of the Dubai and Singapore markets.
He was never a public figure until he married Celina, which brought him into the spotlight. His Instagram handle has zero followers with no posts.
Celina Jaitly and Peter Haag met in Dubai via family friends and got married around 2010-2011. The couple have been blessed with three children. Celina gave birth to two set of twins but in 2017 one of those newborns (Shamsher) died due to a heart condition.
Peter and Celina have always kept their lives private and far from the public eye. He was known for being a calm and supportive husband, and their relationship looked perfect on social media. Celina often posted pictures of them together with emotional captions.
The allegations that changed everything
Celina’s written plea alleges multiple patterns of emotional, physical and financial abuse. There were repeated verbal and racial remarks that Peter made which reduced her dignity. Reports say that he referred to her as his ‘midservant.’
Celina’s papers reportedly describe physical incidents that happened in Dubai and Singapore. In Singapore, Peter was drunk and had struck her, leaving a handprint on her back. While in Dubai she claims that she was pushed out of an apartment right after her post-partum.
Not only this, she further states that Peter forced her to stop working and misappropriated the rental income she receives from her Versova flat in Mumbai. He pressured her to sign a gift deed while she was in a bad mental state and grieving after her personal losses. She is seeking to cancel the property transfers.
She even alleges that he isolated her by moving the families across and later cut off her access to their children. The children are currently in Austria, under the custody of Peter.
Peter, through legal filings has denied these allegations and claimed that Celina wasn’t committed to household responsibilities. These statements remain unproven until the court examines the evidence.
Celina’s personal crisis
Celina has been dealing with emotional blows one after another. Earlier she filed a petition for her brother Vikrant, who was forcefully detained and abducted in the UAE since September 2024. This case came up as a “national security” related case.
The Delhi High court has taken the matter in hand and have directed the government to provide legal aids and appoint a nodal contact officer. The next hearing is expected to be in early December after the MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) submits its progress report.
In her latest post, Celina opened up about hitting the lowest point of her life. She wrote in her caption: ““In the middle of the strongest most turbulent storm of my life I never imagined I would spend fighting alone, without any parents, without any support system.”
“My priority remains fighting for my soldier brother, fighting for my children’s love, fighting for my dignity. A DV complaint has been filed against all the atrocities, abandonment perpetrated upon me.”
