A Secret Unveiled After 27 Years
Kunickaa spoke about her past without explicitly naming the singer initially in an episode of the popular reality show. After her eviction she became more direct in interviews and confirmed the person in question was Kumar Sanu.
She disclosed that they had a live-in relationship during a time when he was legally married to his first wife Rita Bhattacharya but they were living separately.
Kunickaa described her decision to finally speak out after 27 years as a liberating experience. She added that she felt “so light” after sharing her truth. She mentioned her primary intention was to share life lessons and personal boundaries with the younger generation of contestants on the show and not to open old wounds or denigrate anyone.
What the Sanu Family Members Say
Though there are no recent clarifications from the Sanu family or Kumar Sanu himself on the matter. However, a few months back Jaan Kumar Sanu – son of Kumar Sanu – was seen making subtle hints on what has surfaced now.
Jaan Kumar Sanu had reacted strongly to an old video of Kunickaa making general comments about women in the industry. He commented that she “did this herself her whole life” with married men and warned that if he spoke further “a lot of secrets would come out“.
This indicates that the family already had a handful to spill even before Kunickaa Sadanand’s official statement on the show and after.

In an additional interview with media – Rita Bhattacharya – who is ex wife of Kumar Sanu also mentioned that it was while she was pregnant that their affair was taking place. Mother of Jaan Kumar Sanu also added that Kunickaa was also involved with somebody else while being with her husband.
