Summary– Rajinikanth’s blockbuster sequel, Jailer 2 hype is getting bigger day by day with fresh reports hinting towards Vijay Sethupathi joining the star cast of the 2023 blockbuster sequel.
Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is one of the highest anticipated films in Tamil cinema. The Tamil legendary actor is widely known for his cinematic blockbusters and craze spread across the country.
According to the reports on social media, Vijay Sethupathi has been roped in to play an important role in Jailer 2. The Tamil actor has reportedly joined the shooting happening in Goa for the shooting schedule.
However, there has been no official confirmation from the production team regarding Vijay Sethupathi’s casting in the movie so far.
Additionally, the makers of Silambarasan TR’s Arasan have announced that Vijay will also be part of the Vetrimaaran directorial.
Rajnikanth and Vijay Sethupathi have shared the screen earlier in 2019 in Karthik Subbaraj’s drama Petta. The fans admired the two actors for their bond in the movie. If the reports of Vijay Sethupathi being casted in Jailer 2 happen to be true, it would be interesting to see the two actors reunite on screen.
It may be recalled that Superstar Rajinikanth had, in May this year, said that work on ‘Jailer 2’ was likely to go on until December.The teaser of the Jailer 2 was triggered by the fans out of pure excitement.
The prequel did phenomenally well in the theatres which went on to emerge a huge blockbuster, raking in around Rs 650 crores.

The first part of Jailer had some exceptional cameos in the film. Kannada superstar Dr Shiva Rajkumar and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal too are expected to be a part of Jailer 2 as well although there has been no official confirmation in this regard.
Mithun Chakraborty and Vidya Balan are also set to play a role in Rajniknath’s Jailer 2.
Anirudh Ravichandran will be the music composer for the movie as he was for the first part.
The production of the movie is set to be wrapped up by December with its official release date on 12 June 2026 in the theatres.
