Introduction

The benchmark indices closed in the green today, with the Sensex gaining  98 points, equating to 0.16 percent, currently standing at Rs 61,872.62 and the BSE 500 index closed in the green by gaining 66 points, or 0.27 percent.

Over the last year, BSE 500 index has returned 13 percent, and these four companies have outperformed the index by more than 60 percent,

Listed below are four stocks that hit 52-week highs today:

ITC Ltd

ITC has business interests in cigarettes, hotels, paperboards and specialty papers, packaging, agribusiness, packaged foods and confectionery, information technology, branded apparel, personal care, stationery, safety matches, and other FMCG products. It is the country’s leading FMCG marketer.

With a market capitalization of Rs 5,48,262 crores, the company’s stock closed today at a price of Rs 441.75, an upside of 1.90 percent as compared to the previous closing price of Rs 434. At 9:45, the scrip hit its new 52-week high mark at Rs 442.45.

In the last year, the stock has been able to gain 61 percent for its stakeholders, ranging from Rs 266.70 to the current levels.

TVS Motor Company LTD

TVS Motor manufactures the largest range of 2-wheelers. It is engaged in the manufacturing of motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, three-wheelers, parts, and accessories. The company has footprints globally, including geographies like the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and Latin and Central America.

With a market capitalization of Rs 60,906 crore, the company’s stock closed today at a price of Rs 1,281, an upside of 0.64 percent as compared to the previous closing price of Rs 1,275.70. At 14:45, the scrip hit its new 52-week high mark at Rs 1287.50.

In the last year, the stock has been able to gain 82 percent for its stakeholders, ranging from Rs 708.30 to the current levels. 

Ceat Ltd

The company is primarily engaged in the business of manufacturing and selling of tyres, tubes, and flaps for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, tractors, tippers, and trucks. CEAT plans to set up two plants, one in Maharashtra for specialty tyres and the other for radial tyres for cars, utility vehicles, and trucks.

With a market capitalization of Rs 8,739 crore, the company’s stock closed today at a price of Rs 2,160.65, an upside of 4.04  percent as compared to the previous closing price of Rs 2,060. At 15:00, the scrip hit its new 52-week high mark of Rs 2,185.

In the last year, the stock has been able to gain 112.79 percent for its stakeholders, ranging from Rs 1006.35 to the current levels. 

Apollo Tyres Ltd

Apollo tyres engages in the manufacturing of automatic bias and radial tyres, and tubes. It has plants in Kochi, Vadodara, Pune, and Chennai. The product profile includes prominent tyre brands in the T&B, light truck, passenger car, and farm vehicle segments in India.

With a market capitalization of Rs 24,718 crore, the company’s stock closed today at a price of Rs 389.20, an upside of 1.41  percent as compared to the previous closing price of Rs 383.30. At 14:45, the scrip hit its new 52-week high of Rs 390.

In the last year, the stock has been able to gain 82.89 percent for its stakeholders, ranging from Rs 213.50 to the current levels.
