The stock seems to be making up for the lost momentum since inception. Over the last 6 months, the stock has earned investors 132.21%. The last time the stock experienced a noticeable rally was in 2008.

The rally started in December 2020 when the price started going up before the Russia-Ukraine war broke out, affecting markets worldwide resulting in a correction for the stock.

NDTV is considered to be a legacy brand that has pioneered independent news broadcasting in India. It is credited for launching the first 24×7 news channel and the first lifestyle channel in the country.

One of the reasons for such a spike in prices could be speculation about the change in ownership or divestment. Later, the company released a statement nullifying the rumour and said the Founder-promoters, Radhika and Prannoy Roy will remain in control of the company.

It remains the most widely-distributed Indian News channel outside India. In fact, it is the only Indian English news channel available in the US on Comcast Cable, the world’s largest cable network, Virgin Media in the UK and Multichoice DStv in South Africa.

The media company was able to clock a net sales of Rs 116.36 crore in December 2021 up 9.95% from Rs. 105.83 crore in the same quarter previous year. This results in its net profit to jump by 36.02% from Rs. 20.32 crore in December 2020 to Rs. 27.64 crore.

NDTV has subsidiaries including NDTV BV, NDTV Convergence Limited, NDTV Labs Limited, Turner General Entertainment Networks India Limited, Alliance Lumiere Limited and Imagine Showbiz Limited.
