The Indian equity investors are facing a hard time in the market in 2022 so far with the NSE’s Nifty 50 has given a negative return of -10.14% YTD. The majority of the Indian stocks are trading in red this year and only 12 out of 50 stocks in Nifty 50 have given positive returns in the first half of the year.

If we look into the top gainers of the year so far, Coal India has given the highest returns of 25.05% in 2022 YTD. The other top performers this year are Mahindra & Mahindra (22.93%), ITC (21.91%), NTPC (20.48%), Bajaj Auto (18.15%), and ONGC (10.63%). Looking into the losing stocks in the Nifty 50 list, 38 out of 50 stocks are trading in red this year. The top two losing stocks in the Nifty 50 include the tech stocks i.e. Tech Mahindra (-41.28%) & Wipro (-37.04%). The other losing stocks in Nifty 50 in 2022 are Bajaj Finserv (-32.33%), Ultratech cement (-29.25%), Shree Cement (-29%), HCL Technologies (-24.88%) and Apollo Hospitals (-24.92%).
