The shares of the Heavy Engineering Equipment manufacturer hit 5 percent upper circuit after the company’s net profit and revenue jumped by 531 percent and 38 percent YoY, respectively in the third quarter. 

With a market capitalization of Rs 1,448.91 crore, the shares of Oriental Rail Infrastructure Ltd were trading at Rs 268.80 per share, increasing around 5 percent as compared to the previous closing of Rs 256.00 apiece. 

Looking into the company’s Performance, Oriental Rail Infrastructure Ltd’s revenue increased by 27 percent on a quarter-on-quarter basis from Rs. 11.53 crores in Q2FY24 to Rs. 14.72 crores in Q3 FY24. Furthermore, revenue jumped by 38 percent year on year from Rs. 10.67 crores in Q3FY23 to Rs.14.72 crores in Q3FY24. 

Oriental Rail Infrastructure Ltd’s net profit increased by 63 percent on a quarter-on-quarter basis from Rs.7.68 crores in Q2FY24 to Rs. 12.51 crores in Q3FY24. Further, net profit increased by 531 percent yearly from Rs. 1.98 crores in Q3FY23 to Rs.12.51 crores in Q3FY24. 

As of December 2023, The company has total orders in hand of Rs 1,729.41 Crores along with its Subsidiary Company Oriental Foundry Private Ltd. 

As of FY22-23, OFPL(subsidiary company) has opened two new manufacturing facilities: the Bogie spring facility in Kutch, Gujarat, and the Bogie and Coupler factory in Chopadava. Wagon boosted production capacity at its Lakadiya, Gujarat facility. The new Bogie spring factory can manufacture 2,80,800 bogey springs each year. 

Moreover, The Wagon plant increased its manufacturing capability to up to ‘2,400 Wagons’ annually. Our Foundry department benefited greatly from the capacity increase, addressing the shortage of wagons for Indian Railways. 

The stock gave a 328.50 percent return in six months and a 357.92 percent return in a year. If an investor invests Rs 1 lakh in the company would be worth Rs 4.57 lakhs in a year. 

Oriental Rail Infrastructure Ltd manufactures, buys, and sells all varieties of Recron, Seat and Berth, and Compreg Boards, as well as trades forest woods and their products.
