The shares of the cigarette manufacturer gained up to 3 percent after ace investor Radhakishan Shivkishan Damani bought 2,33,766 equity shares in the company. 

With a market capitalization of Rs 5,794.27 crore, the shares of VST Industries Ltd were trading at Rs 3,748.25 apiece, increasing around 1.69 percent as compared to the previous closing of Rs 3,689.90 apiece. 

As of December 2023, HDFC Mutual Fund holds 9.01 lakh equity shares which is equivalent to 5.84 percent of VST Industries Ltd out of which HDFC offloads sold 1.30 lakh equity shares in VST at an average price of Rs 3,690 per share and 2 lakh shares at an average price of Rs 3,690.38 per share.

As per the moneycontrol, Ace investor Radhakishan Shivkishan Damani has increased its holding by 2.33 lakh equity shares which is equivalent to 1.51 percent of paid-up equity in the company at an average price of Rs 3,689.96 per share, valued at Rs 86.26 crore. 

Looking into VST Industries Ltd’s financials, the revenue increased by 5 percent, from Rs 346 crore in Q3 FY23 to Rs 363 crore in Q3 FY24. During the same period, net profit decreased by 31 percent, from Rs 79 crore to Rs 54 crore. 

The company’s profitability measures show a decline in return on equity (RoE) from 29.80 percent in FY 21-22 to 27.71 percent in FY 22-23, while, during the same period return on capital employed (RoCE) declined from 39.02 percent to 35.70 percent. In contrast, the net profit margin (NPM) was 25.29 percent in fiscal year 22-23. 

VST Industries Ltd’s recent shareholding pattern, The Promoters of the company own 32.16 percent while Retail shareholders own a 0.37 percent stake in the company, and Foreign Institutional Investors own a 1.39 percent stake.
