Benchmark indices slipped slightly into the red by 11:45 AM on Monday. The NSE Nifty 50 was trading at 18,342.60 points, down 7.10 points or 0.039 per cent, while the BSE Sensex was trading at 61,665.15 points, up 129.89 points or 0.21 per cent at 11:45 AM on Monday.
Dividends have been a passive source of income for many. Investors make money from dividends, irrespective of the market condition, even when stocks are trading sideways or are showing a downward trend.
The ex-date and the record date are two significant dates when it comes to dividends or any other corporate action. The ex-date sequentially comes before the record date. Investors who want to be eligible to receive dividends have to buy shares before the ex-date so that these shares get credited to their accounts by the record date.

Gloster Ltd
The Jute manufacturing company has declared an interim dividend at 500 per cent of the face value of its shares of ₹ 10 each, i.e., ₹ 50 per share.
The record date for this purpose is November 16, 2022, and the shares will start trading ex-dividend on November 15, 2022. It has a dividend yield of 2.23 per cent.
Coal India Ltd
Coal India, a Maharatna company is engaged in the mining and production of coal and also operates coal washeries. It has declared an interim dividend at 150 per cent of the face value of its shares of ₹ 10 each, i.e., ₹ 15 per share.
The record date for this purpose is November 16, 2022, and the shares will start trading ex-dividend on November 15, 2022. It has an excellent dividend yield of 9.08 per cent.
Procter & Gamble Health Ltd
This company is engaged in the business of manufacturing and marketing of pharmaceuticals and chemicals. It has declared a final dividend at 115 percent of the face value of its shares of ₹ 10 each, i.e., ₹ 11.5 per share.
The shares will start trading ex-dividend on November 15, 2022. It has a dividend yield of 0.92 percent.
Amara Raja Batteries Ltd
The battery manufacturer has declared an interim dividend at 290 percent of the face value of its shares of ₹ 1 each, i.e., ₹ 2.9 per share.
The record date for this purpose is November 16, 2022 and the shares will start trading ex-dividend on November 15, 2022. It has a dividend yield of 0.54 percent.
Computer Age Management Services
CAMS is a mutual funds transfer agency that provides investor services, distributor services and asset management companies (AMC) services. It has declared an interim dividend at 85 percent of the face value of its shares of ₹ 10 each, i.e., ₹ 8.5 per share.
The record date for this purpose is November 17, 2022 and the shares will start trading ex-dividend on November 16, 2022. It has a dividend yield of 1.42 percent.
PDS Ltd
The company is engaged in trading of garments, investment holding, design, development, marketing, sourcing and distribution of readymade garments of all kinds and other consumer products worldwide. It has declared an interim dividend at 125 percent of the face value of its shares of ₹ 2 each, i.e., ₹ 2.5 per share.
The record date for this purpose is November 18, 2022 and the shares will start trading ex-dividend on November 17, 2022. It has a dividend yield of 1.35 percent.
