Synopsis: HDFC AMC proposes Rs. 54/share final dividend for FY2026, a ~20% increase over bonus-adjusted FY2025 payout of Rs. 45, totaling Rs. 2,313 crore pending shareholder approval at AGM.
HDFC Asset Management Company has proposed a final dividend of Rs. 54 per equity share for the financial year 2026. The board approved the payout recently. Shareholders must still give their approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. After the AGM, the company will release the payment within regulatory timelines. The dividend announcement came alongside HDFC AMC’s latest financial disclosures. The stock has drawn investor attention following the news.
HDFC Asset Management Company shares rose 2.25 percent to Rs. 2,723.70 on the NSE. The stock has recorded a 52-week high of Rs. 2,967.25 and a low of Rs. 2,003. The company’s market capitalisation stands at roughly Rs. 1,13,054 crore. Despite broader market pressure, fresh deal wins like this one keep investor attention alive.
At first glance, Rs. 54 seems lower than last year’s Rs. 90 per share. However, the comparison needs context. In November 2025, HDFC AMC issued bonus shares in a 1:1 ratio. This means every shareholder received one extra share for each share held. The record date for this bonus issue was November 26, 2025.
Therefore, the FY2025 dividend of Rs. 90 effectively becomes Rs. 45 on a post-bonus adjusted basis. Compared to that adjusted figure, the new Rs. 54 dividend actually marks a nearly 20% increase. So, the company is, in fact, paying more not less than the previous year.
Unlike FY2025, HDFC AMC did not pay any interim dividend during FY2026. Last year, the company had paid Rs. 1,495.05 crore as an interim dividend. This year, that figure stands at zero. The entire dividend payout for FY2026 will come through this single final dividend.
The numbers behind the dividend are significant. HDFC AMC currently has 42.84 crore equity shares outstanding. Each share carries a face value of Rs. 5. At Rs. 54 per share, the total dividend outflow would amount to roughly Rs. 2,313 crore. This is subject to shareholder approval at the AGM.
For comparison, the FY2025 final dividend paid during FY2026 had resulted in an outflow of Rs. 1,925.19 crore. The upcoming payout, consequently, would surpass that figure by a notable margin.
Overall, HDFC AMC’s FY2026 dividend signals financial confidence. Despite skipping an interim dividend, the company is rewarding shareholders generously. The final approval now rests with shareholders at the AGM.
